Clothing Sample Making
The Prototype Sample is not made for selling or showing off. This type of sample use the actual fabric and the sketched design of the style. However to save time and money it uses generic hardware (buttons, zipper pulls) and does not include items such as labels or logos. The benefit of the Prototype Sample is to quickly get to a point where you can test the "fit" and "look" of the design on a real person. Many corrections are made in the sample making process on the Prototype, as for example you may realize the pocket flap is too short as designed. Usually it requires THREE attempts to sew the perfect Prototype Sample.
The Sales Sample is the clothing sample that is ready for the runway or social media. As Miami sample makers we often help clients make Sales Samples that they use to start marketing their brand. The Sales Sample is the full representation of your design. This means it includes the label with your logo or brand name, the actual hardware you designed (e.g., logos on button snaps), the graphic print/images you want on the fabric, and and every other detail. Sometimes clients even include the custom designed hang tag to attach to the Sales Sample.
